Talk Story with an Advertiser: Belinda Pate Medical Aesthetics

Belida Pate, NP-C, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in cosmetic injectables (such as Botox and Juvederm) to bring back beauty and youth. Her pride is providing absolutely natural results. She emphasizes, “Anyone can do a lot with a lot of product, but what can you do with a little? There is the art. There is not one photo in my marketing that is not an actual patient of mine.”

Belinda began her nursing career in 1993. As the years went by, she experienced burnout. In 2007, she answered an ad for a cosmetic nurse, having never had Botox herself. After revealing talent and an artistic eye, she was soon promoted to the position of regional injector, seeing more than 100 patients a week.

For Belinda, the real gem was the injectables training to perform Botox and Dermal fillers, sharing, “I discovered that I could ‘seeʻ aging before it happens.”

Elevating her nursing degree to nurse practitioner was a grueling three-year certification process that gave her the knowledge and autonomy to treat patients independently.

In 2011, Belinda started her own practice in Sacramento. At that time, she and her husband had already been planning to move to Hawai‘i Island, which they did 6 years later.

In 2017, she opened her first office in Kona, eventually landing a lovely space in Pottery Terrace. Then in 2019 a patient introduced her to the owner of a Hilo oceanfront estate which had an office space for rent. After this fortuitous meeting, she opened a satellite office with exquisite Keaukaha views.

Since she opened her practices in Hawai‘i, Belinda has created a better work/life balance and enjoys the luxury of having extra time with each patient. She shares, “Oftentimes when a patient comes in with a specific request, itʻs not what actually needs correcting in order to bring out their best self. It takes time to explain what can be done to freshen their look. Also, skincare in Hawai‘i is different than skincare on the mainland, so people need to know what will help. Within their budget and capacities of the products, I educate my patients as to what is realistic and truly effective,” adding, “Sometimes there’s an assumption that ‘naturalʻ people don’t use fillers or medical grade skincare. The truth is, they do, because the products are safe and effective in the right hands.”

When you want to look your best, consulting with Belinda is your first step.
