Heahea ka leo, leo o nā kupa, kupa o ka ‘āina, ‘āina o Keawe, welina mai! ‘O ka ‘oe‘oe kai leo o nā kupa ‘āina i heahea mai i nā kupa o nā kūpuna ala. Pa‘a iho nō i ka ‘ike o nā po‘e pili i nā kupa ‘uhane a ke Akua. ‘O wili a‘e ka ‘oe‘oe a lohe ‘ia kahi leo hāwanawana a kupaianaha ia ala. Kū wale i loko o ia leo nahenahe a pili i ka ‘ike kūpuna me ka ‘ike ‘uhane kekahi. ‘O ia ia‘u!
Call upon those, the voices that are theirs, the voices of the land, land of Keawe, Greetings! ‘Oe‘oe—Hawaiian whistle is the voice of the land and from the land that calls upon the ancestors of afar. Held fast by those within or close to the knowledge of the Highest Spirit and ancestral people near you. Stir in a swing the ‘oe‘oe and hear this special soft sound, amazing indeed. Be one within the gentle voice, which brings you close to ancestral knowledge and spiritual sense as well. It is to me!

Kumu Keala Ching
Kumu Keala Ching is a Hawaiian cultural educator, composer, song writer, and spiritual advisor to many Hawaiian organizations. He lives and breathes aloha into his Hawaiian heritage with his strong presence and great heart. Under the tutelage of Loea Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, Kumu Keala spent many years learning and building his knowledge. He is fluent in the Hawaiian language, which he uses as the foundation for teaching all of his students. Kumu Keala lives in Kailua-Kona, where he is Kumu Hula for Ka Pa Hula Na Wai Iwi Ola (the ancient waters of life) and co-founder and executive director of Na Wai Iwi Ola (NWIO) Foundation.
